I remember your Sandygate club (mid 70's, tegatani kempo jutsu/shorin ji kempo) with great fondness. Glad to see you're still going strong. |

Hi Jack it's been a long time. You graded Mike Howcroft and myself to 1st Dan whilst we were training with Ian at the Bury Dojo. Mike and I formed the Rengo Kai Mushin Dojo's when Ian switched to Kyukashinkai in the late seventies. I continued training under sensei Meiji Suzuki at the English schools clubs and was graded to 2nd Dan. I went to Japan to study iaido and gained a 3rd Dan. I also remember training with Roy Booth,Bill Hoffman and Dave Brown who had Dojo's in Bradford. I have no knowledge of how any of these are going on but would welcome contact from them if they are interested. |

Hello Sensei, nice to see you are still training.
I went in the Royal Marines Commandos for 8 years then ever since in the prison service in physical education.I have been practicing Okinawan Goju Ryu since 86, and went to Okinawa last year for intensive training at the So Honbu.I wrote an article in Traditional Karate about the trip, its this months issue. would be nice to here from you, best wishes Mark Weatherill |
