Below are brief details of classes, training times and dojo

Ju-Jitsu

Ju-Jitsu (the gentle art) is one of the mother arts giving rise to many other Martial Arts styles/systems, the principals of Ju-Jitsu are to counter your attacker with use of blocks and/or parries, strikes to stun him, apply sweeps/throws to floor and finish with use of various locks, this is a somewhat simplistic explanation of an 'art' originally used as a method of combat by the samurai. The Ju-jitsu syllabus is based on a seven belt system up to black and above (including weapons). All gradings are based upon the World Ju-Jitsu Federation system, the founder of the W.J.J.F. soke Robert Clark, is internationally recognised coordinator. Minimum age - 7 years Formal kit required - tunic (gi) white Licence/registration - (W.J.J.F.)

Kempo

Kempo (the way of the fist) is another traditional Martial Art from Okinawa/Japan from where modern day Karate was born, it is based on high speed blocking, striking and locking followed with counter attacks using all parts of the body. Weapons (Kobudo) powerbreaking (tameshiwari) a section of breaking boards using various strikes is also included within the Kempo seven belt syllabus, grading up to black and above. National/International courses/gradings are through Nippon Dai Budo Kai. Minimum age - 7 years Formal kit required - tunic (gi) black Licence/registration - (N.D.B.K.)

Kickboxing

Kickboxing is the modern day equivalent Martial Art training, the sport involves the hand skills of boxing, using kicks taken from Kempo, including sweeps and throws, achieving an all-round cardiovascular workout, competetive kickboxing is also available, Kickboxing is graded through a seven belt syllabus up to black, National/International courses/gradings through Nipon Dai Budo Kai.
